Aldeia Manga is located on the island of Santo Antão, nestled in the middle of the Paúl-valley, on an garden area of aprox. 5.000 sqm, with a flora of Papaya, Goiaba and Mango trees offering a holiday house built out of stone and 4 Adobe Bungalows which all are ecological, natural, traditional, as well as clean and comfortable.

The house offers tranquility with a stress free environment. Situated in the highlands, the area offers several sunny and shaded spots where you can relax as well as swim in the 110 m2 natural swimming pond. For those wanting a little more activity, the area is also ideal starting point for walks, trips and hikes in the valley of Paúl. Interspersed in these routes are local villages, where you will get an opportunity to meet the local population and have a taste of the Cape Verdian culture.

The holiday house is approximately 55 m2 big and consists of a living room with kitchen, a spacious bedroom with double bed and bathroom (cold water), as well as a 2nd double bed in in the living room. There are 2 separate doors to the bathroom (from the bed-and living room), and up to 4 people can live comfortably in the house. Attached to the house, there is a small yard with its own sitting area and panoramic views into the valley and of the mountains.

Additionally, there are chairs at the pond, a shady barbeque house with seats and tables - perfect to grill fresh fish, which you have the option of grilling yourself or having us grill it for you, while you enjoy your candlelit meal. We offer numerous traditional meals with fresh fish and Catchupa, as well as some South European meals. We also offer fruits, vegetables, salad and vegetarian meals.

In addition to the above, we offer access to a washing machine and internet connection. For those wanting a half board, this is possible: we serve a dinner as a buffet at 7pm each evening. Aldeia Mange is suitable for long and short terms stays. For longer term holiday makers, you are welcome to self supply and make requests for purchases.

Location: on the island of Santo Antão, in the middle of the Paúl-valley. Off from the street and therefore very quiet, approximately 50 meters from the last car-stop on the road to us.

Transportation: From Porto Novo with the "Aluguer" (collective taxi) up to Paúl / Passagem / Lombo Comprido. Costs: 3,60 EUR / person. Also by Taxi via the new coast-road (costs 36 EUR total price) or via the old, panoramic Mountainroad (costs 50 EUR total price) with a English speaking driver, photostops possible.

However, you can also hike to Aldeia Manga: First drive with a taxi, from Porto Novo, up to the Cova Crater and then walk in approximately 3-4 hours downhill into the valley up to Aldeia Manga, meanwhile your luggage comes to us with the Taxi where we hold it for you. More details via email.
