Aldeia Manga is the first real Eco Lodge of the Cape Verde Islands. Our houses are constructed using ecological and recyclable materials: adobe, stones, wood and straw. Aldeia Manga awaits you with a garden spread out over 7,000 m², featuring bananas, guavas, papaya, mangos, bamboo and all manners of flowers and other plants.
Our swimming pond was cleared by hand and our water preparation process is conducted entirely without chemicals, 100 % ecological.
Imagine walking across the sugar cane and banana plants through the greenest valley of the Cape Verde Islands, with high mountains surrounding and the blue sea at the lower end of the valley.

Ribeira do Paúl Valley
Remote, yet accesible
The Ribeira de Paúl or more simply, Paúl Valley, is a refuge for nature lovers and hikers. It might well be described as the green heart of the island. It's also the greenest valley of the entire Cape Verde Islands. Thanks to its climatic and geographical conditions, the region is primarily dedicated to agriculture.

Garden & Natural Swimming Pond
Aldeia Manga awaits you with a garden spread out over 7,000 m², featuring bananas, guavas, papaya, mangos, bamboo and all manners of flowers and other plants.
There are shady spots with tables and chairs below the large mango trees, inviting you to linger and relax after your hiking adventures. There's also a hammock for those who prefer to sway in the breeze.

The Houses
Bungalows & Holiday Houses
There are plenty of options for you at Aldeia Manga, from five adobe bungalows to two large stone houses with a kitchen. Because the houses are spread out around the property and all have their own outdoor seating areas, you'll have plenty of privacy.
All units are equipped with their own bathroom, wash basin and shower (warm water). There are clotheslines to dry your laundry...

Peaceful retreat in the Paul Valley We spent three nights here in November 2025, aiming to do some walking in the valley. We had one of the larger houses which was airy and spacious and very peaceful. Staff were friendly and although English isn’t widely spoken the receptionist who works from 7-1 each day spoke excellent English and was very helpful in terms of organising taxis etc. Despite comments in other reviews, we found food to be plentiful and delicious. Definitely more than we could eat at both dinner and breakfast. The swimming pool provides a pretty relaxing area although we didn’t actually swim in it. We had one day of beautiful self guided walking in the valley. Unfortunately non-stop heavy rain meant no hiking on our second day and we had to content ourselves with watching the slightly disconcerting rockfall from the valley wall. Would recommend.
